Parting the Sea Between Brightness and Me by Touché Amore crashing in like waves on the break wall. Filled with passion and catchy lyrics and enough hooks to catch enough fish to feed thousands, and I apologize that will be the end of the nautical puns. The band has received a ton of hype and it was well deserved because if you can’t connect with the lyrics or feel the emotion pouring out of the songs, you might just be in denial, but that’s ok. read more

After having Blind to What is Right trailer killing me with anticipation, I finally got the album and well it didn’t disappoint. Due out January 18th on Deathwish Inc, Blind to What is Right is a foreboding yet melodic blend of hardcore that we have come accustom to from The Carrier. The title track kicks off the album with pure emotion. There are so many little things to comment on so I will try to keep some order to my review. Musically, the songs are catchy and hypnotizing. The tone will appeal to those who love melodic hardcore and heavy hardcore, Blind to What is Right straddles that fence throughout the entire album. read more

If you have yet to hear about Killing the Dream you probably do not listen to much hardcore. Deathwish Inc. will be releasing the bands latest entitled Lucky Me. This seven track lp is just under 20 minutes, but it packs a heavy hand for a vicious haymaker of explosive melodic hardcore. Killing the Dream comes out swinging with “Blame the Architects,” before slowing it down from a melodic interlude building into a rock groove. As Lucky Me moves forward you continue to feel the emotions pour out of the speakers from the melodic passages that paint vivid pictures. read more

End of a Year says it best on how to listen to their album You Are Beneath Me with “Composite Character.” It’s not an album that I can shove in a pigeon hole of a specific genre but the eleven tracks spanning about thirty-one and a half minutes is nothing short of a journey. With well thought lyrics given you fit the criteria pointed out in Composite Character, this album will speak to you with ease. The guitars are warm and bring a solid steady beat with punk bass lines and drums backing it, End of a Year is not quite like anything you probably been listening too lately. read more
